Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Lindsay Gomez graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a BA in Psychology in 2008. She then moved to Lakeland, Florida to earn her Masters of Science in Professional Counseling in 2012.
Lindsay joined SWFL Counseling in May of 2012, giving her the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients striving to improve their lives. Lindsay has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, along with families and couples. She also has had experience working in a community agency counseling and educating individuals with both physical and cognitive disabilities to navigate their daily lives.
In 2014, Lindsay and her husband moved to South Korea for her husband’s career. While in South Korea, Lindsay was able to gain a greater understanding of cultural diversity and awareness. After living for a year overseas, she has returned to the SWFL area and has rejoined the team at SWFL Counseling.
Lindsay works from a cognitive-behavioral approach to counseling, relying heavily on rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) techniques. She firmly believes that understanding our thoughts, actions, and feelings and the way they interact, can help us to better understand ourselves. Through that understanding we can overcome depression, anxiety, difficulties in a significant relationship, marriage or family.

In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and arts and crafts. Her latest crafting projects center around crocheting and photo displays.
