Leslie Taylor, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified

Leslie Taylor is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), trained to provide care across the lifespan. She utilizes holistic and evidence-based practices to help guide individuals through difficult feelings and situations related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, personality disorders and neurocognitive disorders, such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She is passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to those who are suffering. She provides medication management, psychotherapy services, screening and lab testing, neurocognitive screening and management, hydration and nutraceutical education and support, as well as consultation/guest speaker services as a mental health advocate in Southwest Florida and East Tennessee communities.

Leslie is the Director of Clinical Operations for SWAG Mental Health Services, LLC, a family-owned company. She joined forces with her father, a former minister and 30+ year business owner, as they recognized the need for individualized, high-quality mental health care. SWAG focuses on Sunshine, Water, Air (breathing), and Gratitude. These four elements are part of her evidence-based treatments which can alleviate symptoms and provide sustained relief from a variety of mental health disorders and conditions. Leslie’s experience as a mental health provider has taught her that medications almost never fix a problem alone. However, they can be a vital part of a broader treatment plan. Leslie believes that our bodies are “fearfully and wonderfully made”, and that sometimes we just need a little help to recognize our own strengths and abilities.

Leslie was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After 10+ years of sales and management within the pharmaceutical industry, Leslie felt called to make a life change. She attended an accelerated nursing program at East Tennessee State University (ETSU), where she graduated cum laude. She spent her years as a registered nurse working on a certified stroke unit, psychiatric inpatient facility, and as a system-wide float pool nurse covering ICU/PCU. In 2020, she responded to the call to serve as a crisis nurse, traveling to hard-hit areas during the Covid-19 pandemic. During her service, she continued her training and successfully completed her master’s degree in psychiatric nursing. She has been proudly serving the communities of Southwest Florida as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2022.

SWAG Mental Health Services is a faith-based practice. Our faith in Jesus Christ is what drives us to help others, no matter their walk of life. We strive to follow His examples of kindness, patience, and truth, and we will meet you wherever you are.

“Spread love wherever you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
